古典教材開発研究センターは、日本の古典文学を未来や世界へと繋げることができる人物を育成するために設立されました。日本古典文学・書誌学・日本語学の専門家および国語科教員からなるセンター員が、古典籍やくずし字を使った、新しい日本古典文学の教材を開発しています。

The goal of establishing the Center for the Development of Educational Materials on Classical Japanese Literature is to help train a new generation of future-oriented scholars able to draw connections between the literature of classical Japan and the wider world beyond. To attain this goal, the faculty composing the Center—specialists in classical literature, Japanese bibliography, and Japanese linguistics, together with primary-school teachers of Japanese Language—are cooperating to develop new materials and methodologies for teaching classical Japanese literature, integrating the cursive kuzushi-ji script throughout and making full use of the intellectual resources such classical texts have to offer.
